The house has two telephone lines. One line terminates in the basement and the second is 'chained' with sockets in just about every room of the house. Cypriot homes use 'UK' style telephone sockets.
Internet connection is available in the village via ADSL from Cyta or PrimeTel - speeds of up to 50Mbps/3Mbps are available. The house currently has a VDSL (Very-high-bit-rate Digital Subscriber Line) modem and wiring connected at 16Mbps/3Mbps
The whole house is wired with 'CAT 5' network cables and most rooms have two sockets. Cable is better than wireless in Cyprus as the houses are constructed with reinforced concrete and the 'rebar' restricts the Wi-Fi signal.
The wired network terminates at the 'hub' in the basement. Currently the ADSL modem is located in the basement and connections are available throughout the house. This allows TV and video to be streamed to any room from a 'media server' along with Internet radio stations from around the world.
